Automotive parts represent a weakness in China's automotive industry — especially in the core components sector, which has been essentially monopolized by foreign manufacturers. Today, however, domestic parts companies have achieved qualitative improvements in product quality and technical standards through continuous investment and dedicated R&D, and are poised to break the foreign monopoly.
On March 23, the award ceremony of the "6th Trusted Commercial Vehicle Powertrain Selection" was held in Beijing. Among the winning engine models in this year's selection, more than half used aftertreatment systems produced by Kailong Hi-Tech Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Kailong"). The Powertrain Selection Organizing Committee presented Kailong with the "Trusted Components Award," recognizing and rewarding the company's dedication and efforts in internal combustion engine energy conservation and emission reduction.

Using the Award as a Catalyst to Drive Industry Development
"Entering the evaluation and winning an award affirms our past achievements, and is also a great opportunity to showcase Kailong's technology and strength to the industry. It proves that Kailong has made certain achievements in the development, production, and matching of diesel engine aftertreatment systems. Kailong hopes to use this as an opportunity to establish brand positioning, drive the installation rate of our products in the market, and contribute to energy conservation and emission reduction." Kailong Deputy General Manager Zang Xiaomei told a Commercial Vehicle News reporter.
In the aftertreatment field, Kailong is truly "battle-hardened" — it was one of the earliest domestic companies to engage in aftertreatment system R&D. From 2010 to the present, more than 303,000 systems have been widely applied in the market, demonstrating high retention rates and fully verifying the reliability and stability of its products.
"Kailong has obtained 94 patents including the 'Diesel Engine SCR Catalytic Muffler' and 3 integrated circuit layout design registrations, including 30 invention patents. The company has led or participated in the formulation of 18 industry standards, including 10 SCR standards, 5 DPF standards, 2 catalyst carrier standards, and 1 automotive industry standard. Kailong is also the group leader for the National Internal Combustion Engine Standardization Technical Committee's Diesel Engine SCR Exhaust Aftertreatment Working Group." Zang Xiaomei said: "Awards belong to the past. In the future, Kailong will use honors as motivation, continue striving to improve technology, provide better services to customers, and support industry development."
"Although China started relatively late in the exhaust aftertreatment field, our products have now successfully entered overseas markets — a testament from the side that our products and technology are not inferior to those of foreign companies. Moreover, China's manufacturing cost advantage is even more pronounced." Zang Xiaomei noted that while some core technologies in China's automotive industry still have a considerable gap compared to the world's leading levels, the gap in the exhaust aftertreatment field is gradually narrowing, and Kailong holds a leading advantage in the industry.
